Samson AgonistesDavid Samson‘s March 28 resignation as chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey didn’t repair the damage between his law firm, Wolff & Samson, and its client, Bergen County.

A month earlier, on March 4, the county Board of Chosen Freeholders had called for Samson’s resignation, stating in a resolution that some of his activities as chairman created a conflict of interest in continuing to represent the county. Although the resolution was not public, it concerned allegations about the role the Port Authority played in closing local lanes of the George Washington Bridge, snarling traffic in the Bergen borough of Fort Lee, and Samson’s failure to investigate.
