New Jersey’s marijuana legalization proponents are betting that if anything will sway Gov. Chris Christie from his opposition, it’s the promise of substantial regulatory revenues and savings on law enforcement.

“The economics are just larger than can be imagined…on every different level,” says Sen. Nicholas Scutari, D-Union, the bill’s sponsor, who estimates that marijuana could be a $1 billion industry in New Jersey when all monetary impacts are considered.
