The New Jersey Supreme Court has agreed to hear a legal malpractice case against the former general counsel of a time-share company—a case where more than $1 million is at stake.

The court, in granting a petition for certification May 23 in Kaye v. Rosefielde, is set to decide whether proof of economic damages is needed to disgorge two years’ worth of the general counsel’s $500,000 annual salary.
