Roger Lai, an attorney at Cooper Levenson in Atlantic City, was installed as the 83rd president of the Burlington County Bar Association on June 6 at the Bradford Estate in Hainesport. Members of the Asian Pacific American Lawyer Association were in attendance as Roger was sworn in as the first Asian American to serve in this role. Lai has been active in the Burlington County Bar Association, and most recently served as vice president. He is the former recipient of the Robert Criscuolo Award in recognition of his dedication and service to the Burlington County Bar Association and to the Burlington County community at large. The other Bar officers sworn in that evening were Jennifer Stonerod (Secretary), Douglas Heinold (Treasurer), Elizabeth Garcia (Vice President) and Kevin Walker (President-elect). Middlesex Bar Foundation Honors Winning Mock Trial Team

On May 22, the Middlesex County Bar Foundation honored the Noor Ul-Iman School of South Brunswick for winning the 2013-14 Vincent Apruzzese High School Mock Trial Middlesex County Championship. The event was held at the Middlesex County Superior Court in New Brunswick. The winning team consisted of attorney advisor Norman Epting Jr.; faculty coaches Sufia Azmat and Fakhruddin Ahmed; and students Ayesha Durrani, Maryam Rostoum, Captain Hasna Esseghir, Aaminah B’hat, Salma Elkholy Iman Soliman, Kinza Haq, Ayesha Qureshi, Noor Baig, Zahra Zunaid, Amna Khan, Hibah Rafi and Ayesha Mubin.
