New Jersey firm Budd Larner was awarded $37,000 in fees plus interest after already earning close to $200,000 for its work trying to upend a settlement on behalf of a client in an intellectual property suit against Sony.

U.S. District Judge Mary Cooper of the District of New Jersey on Aug. 14 found that the Short Hills, N.J., firm was entitled to fees left unpaid by former client Virtual Reality Feedback Corp., and its principal Craig Thorner, who claimed Sony misappropriated the design of a video game controller vibration device he invented.
