Durham, N.C.-based equity firm DPx Holdings announced on Aug. 27 it has acquired pharmaceutical manufacturer Gallus BioPharmaceuticals of Princeton, N.J., and St. Louis, Mo. Upon completion of the transaction, Gallus will become part of DRx subsidiary Patheon, a contract drug developer also in Durham. Goodwin Procter in Boston, Mass., provided legal counsel for Gallus, while a team from New York City’s Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom advised DPx.

Acquisition for Samsung

Samsung Electronics America, a wholesaler of commercial electronics in Ridgefield Park, N.J., announced on Aug. 19 its acquisition of heating and air conditioning product manufacturer Quietside Corp., of Santa Fe Springs, Calif.
