The New Jersey Supreme Court on Sept. 17 disbarred former Hoboken, N.J., mayor Peter Cammarano III, who admitted four years ago that he took $25,000 in bribes from a federal informant in exchange for promising his help in getting approval for a high-rise.
Cammarano, who had been with the Newark firm known at the time as Genova, Burns & Vernoia, was one of 44 public officials and rabbis arrested in July 2009 as part of a massive federal investigation, known as Operation Bid Rig, into public corruption and money laundering operations.
