Family, friends and colleagues gathered on Sept. 30 at the Raritan Valley Country Club in Somerville, N.J., to witness the installation of Francesco Taddeo as the 116th president of the Somerset County Bar Association. Superior Court Judge Yolanda Ciccone administered the oath of office. In his acceptance remarks, Taddeo highlighted the need for the Bar Association to mentor and support court law clerks and newly admitted attorneys in their transition to full-time practice. A solo practitioner in Somerville, N.J., Taddeo focuses on labor and employment law representing management and individuals. Other members of the Bar Association Board of Trustees that were sworn in during the evening include: President-Elect Jeralyn Lawrence, a partner at Norris McLaughlin & Marcus in Bridgewater, N.J.; Jodi Lee Alper, first vice president; Michele D’Onofrio, second vice president; Michael Fedun, secretary; Joel Cohen, treasurer; and trustees Victoria Britton, Ryan Carey, Heidi Ann Lepp and Edward Rebenack. Amy Wechsler is the immediate past president, and Michael McLaughlin was installed as the county bar liaison to the N.J. State Bar Association. The Somerset County Bar Foundation Board of Trustees was also sworn in.

Chabad of S.E. Morris Sponsors Jewish Law Symposium

Over 750 attorneys and judges attended the 8th annual Jewish Law Symposium on Sept. 16 at the Birchwood Manor in Whippany, N.J. The symposium featured a panel discussion entitled: “Why Can’t We All Get Along?—Difficult Clients, Families in Business, and Inheritances.” Jeff Greenfield, five-time Emmy Award-winning TV journalist and author, moderated the program, which featured panelists including the Hon. John Bissell, Chief U.S. District Judge (Ret.); Robert E. Margulies; Nancy Erika Smith; H. Glenn Tucker;and Rabbi Daniel Rapp, Talmudic scholar, author and lecturer.
