A federal judge in Trenton, N.J., has dismissed a patent infringement suit by Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. against a company seeking to produce a generic version of its Prevacid SoluTab heartburn drug.

The abbreviated new drug application filed with the Food and Drug Administration by Zydus Pharmaceuticals for permission to sell a version of Prevacid does not infringe on Takeda’s patents, U.S. District Judge Joel Pisano ruled on Oct. 16.
