Laboratory testing and diagnostics company LabCorp, based in Burlington, N.C., on Nov. 3 announced it has paid $6.1 billion in cash and stock to acquire Covance, a provider of clinical trials for drug makers in Princeton, N.J. Richard Hall and Damien Zoubek are leading a team from Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York City representing Covance on the deal, while a team led by Krishna Veeraghavan of New York’s Sullivan & Cromwell, as well as a team led by Michael Silver and William Intner of Hogan Lovells in Baltimore, Md., are representing LabCorp.
ZAIS Completes $62.8M Acquisition
ZAIS Financial Corp., a real estate investment trust in Red Bank, N.J., announced on Nov. 4 the completed acquisition of Baton Rouge, La.-based residential mortgage provider GMFS LLC, for about $62.8 million. The merger was officially announced on Aug. 6.
