Paul Bergrin, the ex-prosecutor and defense lawyer found guilty of facilitating witness murder and running drugs out of his Newark law office, had his conviction and multiple life sentences upheld by a federal appeals court.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit on Dec. 18 turned back an appeal filed by Bergrin, who last year was found guilty of arranging the murder of an FBI informant and otherwise operating a criminal enterprise through his firm.
