The New Jersey Assembly has passed legislation that would limit access to information from event data recorders—also known as “black boxes”—installed in automobiles.
The lower house of the legislature passed the bill, A3579, in a 68-0 vote on Dec. 18. An identical bill, S2433, is pending before the Senate Law and Public Safety Committee.
