The New Jersey Supreme Court has prohibited judges from having post-verdict discussions with jurors in light of a case in which a remark made during such an interaction called the verdict into question.
The court declined to order a new trial, but remanded the case to the Superior Court for a hearing on whether facts raised on appeal indicate that any party was prejudiced.
