A settlement finalized in November paid a total of $1.25 million to the estate of a 26-year-old Marine who died in a crash, in Avendano v. Beam Brothers Trucking.

Irene Gregoriades, then a Toms River, N.J., resident, was riding in a car driven by her boyfriend Franky Rodriguez on Nov. 14, 2009, when he drifted over the line and hit the left rear of a parked tractor trailer, according to Evan Harris, of Watchung, N.J.’s Aiello Harris, Marth, Tunnero, Pastor & Schiffman, who represents Gregoriades’ estate.
