A dozen suits claiming GAF Materials Corp. sold defective composite outdoor decking materials are being centralized in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey by order of the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation.
The putative class-action suits concern composite decking manufactured and sold by GAF under the names Elk Cross Timbers and DuraLife. The suits claim the company’s decking tends to warp, crack and swell and to develop mold, mildew and fungus, contrary to the company’s representations.
