A court directive that would have required lawyers and others to tote around signed agreements in order to use their smartphones, tablets and other electronic devices in court was put on indefinite hold Jan. 21.
Directive 08-14, which was to take effect Feb. 2, contains guidelines that treat lawyers the same as the media and other courthouse visitors in requiring a written agreement in order to use electronic devices in a courtroom.
