The second-largest medical malpractice result in 2014 was a $3.45 million settlement obtained by attorney Adam Slater on behalf of the estate of a man who died as a result of internal bleeding.
In August 2009, David Tobe of North Plainfield, New Jersey, who’d had prostate cancer surgery 11 days prior, was admitted to Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth, New Jersey, for chest pain connected to a pulmonary embolism, according to Slater, of Mazie Slater Katz & Freeman in Roseland, New Jersey.
