A woman who experiences severe cognitive dysfunction due to a head injury from a rear-end crash agreed to a $2.95 million settlement in her Monmouth County suit, Vivas v. Shipley, on Feb. 24.

Adriana Vivas, then 26, was stopped in traffic on Route 9 in Lakewood, New Jersey, on Sept. 18, 2009, when her car was struck in the rear by a van driven by John Shipley and owned by Cablevision of Monmouth, New Jersey, according to court documents.
