Michael Gordon, a pioneer in New Jersey plaintiffs environmental law, began his career at the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. He co-authored the Environmental Cleanup and Responsibility Act, the first law in the nation to require the investigation and cleanup of industrial properties prior to sale.
Gordon created the first New Jersey law firm dedicated to representing citizens, neighborhoods and municipalities facing environmental problems. For over 30 years, he has successfully represented thousands of individual victims of toxic pollution, obtaining millions of dollars in compensation for his clients in some of the most long-standing contamination cases, including Ciba-Geigy in Toms River, and Dupont in Pompton Lakes.
