The estate of a motorist killed in a rear-end accident was paid $1.2 million to settle a Camden County lawsuit, Powers v. Ambassador Fine Foods, on June 11.

In April 2011, Craig Powers Sr. was driving northbound on Route 73 in Pennsauken when his vehicle was struck from behind by a box truck operated by Francis Tejeda and owned by Ambassador Fine Foods. Powers’ vehicle subsequently collided with a semitrailer, and Powers, 55, sustained multiple trauma and died at the scene, according to the estate’s counsel, Charles Nugent Jr., who heads a Marlton firm.
