A woman who suffered back injuries after falling in an icy parking lot agreed to a $2 million settlement of her Monmouth County slip-and-fall suit Oct. 1.

Cheryl Ford was leaving for work Feb. 14, 2008, when she fell on an icy patch, got up and fell a second time in the parking lot of her apartment building in Asbury Park. A dusting of snow had fallen the night before, and the lot had patches of ice, the plaintiff claimed. The parking lot had not been salted or sanded, and there was no procedure manual concerning ice and snow maintenance, according to Paul Caliendo of Gill & Chamas in Woodbridge, who represented Ford.
