In State v. Reardon, the defendant was charged with, among other things, making terroristic threats on his Facebook page, which he posted from his home in Tinton Falls, New Jersey. Specifically, after an evening of drinking, the defendant felt enraged by incidents of alleged police brutality, which he observed while searching the Web.
He therefore posted the following comments: “Don’t wanna get clipped while sitting in your squad car?? Don’t be a [expletives deleted] pig who’s looking to get killed … Everyone who goes out of their way to [expletive deleted] with other people should get executed in cold blood.”
