Robert Kirkman LLC, a company formed by the creator of the hit comic book series “The Walking Dead,” has sued a group of New Jersey defendants for trademark infringement in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
In a suit filed Dec. 3, the company’s attorneys allege that defendant Phillip Theodorou, a Ewing fabric screen-printer, along with four others, knowingly filed trademark applications in violation of the company’s marks. Theodorou sought to register various marks with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for use on items as varied as bottled water, T-shirts, lip balm, cigarillos, perfumed candles, shopping bags and carpets, the complaint alleges.
