A suit against a boutique in the business of representing whistleblowers, claiming the firm coaxed a client into thieving documents from his employer, has failed for a second time.
The Appellate Division on Dec. 30 affirmed dismissal of a suit by California-based J-M Manufacturing against Phillips & Cohen, holding that any claims against its lawyers and client must be looped into massive qui tam litigation currently grinding along in California federal court.
