Alfred Anthony, a New Jersey mass tort and class action attorney, has joined Locks Law Firm as a partner in the firm’s Cherry Hill and New York City offices, with plans to eventually work out of the firm’s forthcoming North Jersey office. Anthony comes to Locks Law Firm from Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, where he spent the last 23 years developing a practice specializing in environmental contamination, chemical exposure, benzene exposure, asbestos exposure, pharmaceutical torts and products liability litigation. In 1994, Anthony established legal precedent in New Jersey by certifying the first toxic exposure personal and medical monitoring class action (Russo v. Allied Signal). As a result of the settlement, a 30-year medical monitoring program was established for people who played on a chromium contaminated ballfield in Jersey City. In 1997, he received the Association of Trial Lawyers of America’s Outstanding Achievement Award for his work on behalf of 427 Pompton Lakes residents in an environmental contamination suit against DuPont that resulted in a $38.5 million settlement (Pompton Lakes v. DuPont). Anthony is a member of the American Association of Justice, the American Association for Justice Benzene Litigation Group and the Middlesex County Bar Association. He also serves on the Board of Governors of the New Jersey Association for Justice. In addition, he was elected mayor of Livingston earlier this year.
