A former New Jersey municipal judge charged with offenses ranging from a sexist courtroom remark to plea bargaining with litigants has agreed to a lifetime ban from the bench.

The agreement, along with a public reprimand, is memorialized in a March 8 state Supreme Court order in the case of Thomas Scattergood, who has sat in several municipalities and most recently completed a three-year term as Burlington City Municipal Court judge in September 2013.
