GE has completed its acquisition of Parsippany-based Metem Corp., it announced last week. The deal will bolster supply chain efficiencies and reduce costs in its turbine production process. Metem provides precision cooling hole manufacturing technologies that help turbine engines function more efficiently. Metem’s 270-person workforce and its facilities in Parsippany, Pennsylvania and Hungary will be integrated into GE over the next six to 12 months, the company said in a news release. The company’s New Jersey headquarters will become a “Center of Excellence” for GE Power, GE’s power generation unit. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Covanta Purchases Material Processing Business in Georgia
Covanta, a Morristown-based sustainable waste and energy solutions company, announced its subsidiary, Covanta Environmental Solutions, has acquired a material processing facility in Georgia from US Ecology Inc. The company said in a news release the acquisition will expand its existing network in the Southeast. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
