Acting New Jersey Attorney General Robert Lougy told the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee on May 5 that the Department of Law and Public Safety brought in more than $451 million in awards in civil cases in 2015.
That amount includes the controversial $225 million settlement the state reached with Exxon Mobil Corp. over contamination at the company’s refinery facility in Bayonne and at the Bayway Refinery in Linden, as well as at all of its service stations and several other facilities in the state.
