A girl whose foot was caught in a shopping mall escalator and saved only after nearly two-dozen medical procedures and weeks of hospitalization, settled a federal suit for $15 million.
The suit claimed Juliana Valdez, now 13, was riding the upward escalator in Macy’s at Garden State Plaza in Paramus in August 2013 when her right foot became ensnared.
