The New Jersey Supreme Court on May 17 censured a local judge for attempting to use his office to avoid being charged with drunken driving.
The court, in an order signed by Chief Justice Stuart Rabner, also barred the respondent, Phillipsburg Municipal Court Judge Dennis Baptista, from presiding over any DWI cases for one year.
