A New Jersey appeals court has ruled that a detective with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office will be allowed to pursue claims that her superiors created and fostered a hostile work environment because she is Asian-American.

However, the two-judge panel on May 25 also ruled that the detective, Lucia Kui, cannot sue for the bulk of the alleged individual acts of retaliation that she said date back to 2000 because the two-year statute of limitations under the state’s Law Against Discrimination had expired.
