New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on May 26 nominated Passaic County Superior Court Judge Joseph Portelli for tenure, slightly more than a week after the state Supreme Court reprimanded the judge for his behavior while assigned to the Family Part.
Christie made the nomination without comment. Neither Portelli nor his attorney, Ralph Lamparello, of Chasan Leyner & Lamparello in Secaucus, responded to requests for comment.
