The Newark Watershed Conservation and Development Corp. has agreed to a $1 million settlement with Genova Burns over the firm’s role in advising the agency before it filed for bankruptcy.

The NWCDC filed a petition June 13 seeking approval of the settlement from U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Vincent F. Papalia, who is hearing its bankruptcy case. The settlement stems in part from the representation of the Newark Watershed by former Genova Burns lawyer Elnardo Webster.
