The New Jersey State Bar Association recently held its Annual Meeting and Convention, which brought together a record-breaking crowd of nearly 3,000 lawyers, judges and other legal professionals. It was a three-day event that included nearly 100 continuing legal education seminars, networking and more.

By contrast, the first Annual Meeting was held at 3:30 p.m. on June 15, 1900, at Haddon Hall in Atlantic City, and primarily featured a lengthy recitation of the new laws the Legislature passed, including those concerning communicable diseases brought by maritime vessels, establishing public schools for children between the ages of seven and 15, and the management of land along the Palisades.
