Lowenstein Sandler has raised associate salaries to $180,000 for associates joining in some markets, including New York, and $160,000 for those joining in smaller markets, including New Jersey.

The firm told its lawyers Monday that the incoming associates would start at $180,000 in New York, Washington, D.C., and Palo Alto, California. The starting salary will be $160,000 in New Jersey and Salt Lake City, chairman and managing partner Gary M. Wingens said. The changes will take effect Sept. 1.
