Attorneys handling the wind-down of an entity once tasked with protecting Newark’s water supply are appealing a grant of immunity to former city Mayor Cory Booker insulating him from claims that he failed as an agency overseer.
The Newark Watershed Conservation & Development Corp. filed a notice of appeal in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey challenging the June 21 order by Judge Vincent Papalia, which dismissed the claims against Booker, currently a U.S. senator representing New Jersey.
