Albireo Energy, an automation and energy services firm that has its Northeast headquarters in Edison, has taken over a pair of Delaware-based companies, it announced July 19. Albireo said in a news release that it will bolster its presence in the mid-Atlantic region with the deal for Advance Power Control Inc. and Energy System Technologies, while enhancing its capabilities in lighting controls, demand response and building analytics. Advance Power Control provides turnkey building automation systems, controls and other services, while Energy System Technologies is an energy efficiency product distributor and consultant.

Both companies serve the New Jersey market, along with Philadelphia and Delaware, from their office in Newark, Delaware. Financial terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
