Lawyers for former Fox News Network anchor Gretchen Carlson stepped up their argument this week that the network’s former CEO, Roger Ailes, lives in New Jersey and that her sexual harassment suit against him is properly venued in Newark.

Ailes “begins each workday buffered by the elaborate private security detail that News Corp. pays to usher him from his $1.6 million home in New Jersey to his office in Manhattan,” Carlson says in court papers filed Aug. 1, citing a 2011 article from Rolling Stone. She also cites property records showing he bought a home in Cresskill in 2000 as well as a 2014 article from Gawker, a media-themed blog, describing around-the-clock security measures carried out by the Cresskill police to protect Ailes and his home there. The articles and public records show that her suit was properly filed in Bergen County Superior Court on July 6, before Ailes removed it to federal court in Newark.
