For the first time in over 25 years, the NJSBA’s General Council has an updated set of procedures for its annual election of members to the Nominating Committee. In recognition of the advances in technology since the rules were last examined, General Council members will now receive more streamlined information about the elections, video information will also be available, and timelines have been set for the request and submission of absentee ballots.

The General Council includes leaders of the association, New Jersey State Bar Foundation, and county and specialty bar associations, as governed by the association’s bylaws. The group makes recommendations to the association’s Board of Trustees on matters affecting the membership and the legal community at large.
