A New Jersey appeals court ruled Aug. 11 that North Jersey Media Group, publisher of The Record of Hackensack and other regional newspapers, is not entitled to know the names of current and former state employees who sought legal representation or indemnification in connection with the ongoing Bridgegate investigation.

The two-judge Appellate Division panel also overturned a trial judge’s decision to award the company $58,407 in counsel fees and costs after the state Department of Law and Public Safety eventually produced redacted records.
