Fernando M. Pinguelo (CIPP/US) is a partner of Scarinci Hollenbeck, LLC and chair of its cyber security and data protection group and co-chair of the NJSBA’s Privacy Law Committee. He will moderate and speak at the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education’s Cyber Security and Privacy Conference, scheduled for Sept. 29, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the New Jersey Law Center. The daylong event is an opportunity for attorneys to learn more about the legal landscape of cyber security and data privacy, common vulnerabilities, and techniques to protect themselves and their clients from data breaches.
“Lawyers and law firm staff are constantly inundated by a stream of spearfishing, ransomware and hacking emails, said Thomas H. Prol, NJSBA president. “These threats and other cyber security risks pose grave concerns to our practices as we safeguard our clients’ files and sensitive information. The NJSBA is here to help. We believe it is critical to provide assistance and educate attorneys and law firm staff about how they can protect their businesses and their clients.”
