Booker, speaking on the Senate floor, asked for unanimous consent for the Senate to proceed to executive session to consider the nominations of Neals and six other U.S. district court nominees who have been waiting the longest for a vote.
Under a unanimous consent vote, an item passes if no senator objects. Besides Neals, Booker sought votes on Edward Stanton III for the Western District of Tennessee, Gary Richard Brown for the Eastern District of New York, Mark Young for the Central District of California, Mary McElroy of the District of Rhode Island and Susan Paradise Baxter and Marilyn Jean Horan, both for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
