A Morris County jury awarded $40 million in a libel case on Thursday to a hedge fund and two individuals who claimed they were defamed when a company published investigative reports for prospective investors.
The verdict in NuWave Investment v. First Advantage Litigation Consulting comes after a previous verdict for $2.6 million in the case was overturned on appeal.
