A federal judge in New Jersey has rejected an attorney’s attempts to represent both a police officer in a wrongful termination case and another officer who is a witness in the case, finding the dual representation would create an impermissible conflict of interest.

U.S. District Judge Joseph Rodriguez of the District of New Jersey ruled in Hunt v. Borough of Wildwood Crest to affirm the decision of U.S. Magistrate Judge Ann Marie Donio of the District of New Jersey, who last year disqualified attorney Michelle Douglass from representing Thomas Hunt in the suit.
