New Jersey’s law schools are taking steps to prepare students set to become the first in the state to take the Uniform Bar Exam, a universal test adopted by a growing number of states that will be administered in New Jersey beginning in February.

The logistics already have changed, according to Ronald Chen, co-dean at Rutgers Law School, who said students this year have opted to take only the UBE in New York, or another jurisdiction that accepts the scores, and not the New Jersey Bar Exam because, beginning in February, New Jersey will accept the transferrable New York results.
