A proposed class action filed in federal court seeks to recover damages from Princeton law firm Schachter Portnoy for allegedly filing a high volume of collection suits without meaningful attorney review of the facts in each case.
Schachter Portnoy filed a collections suit against the named plaintiff in the case, Dzmitry Hrushkouski, after the statute of limitations on the debt had run out, according to the complaint, lodged on behalf of similarly situated litigants.
