Bridgegate defendant Bridget Anne Kelly said Monday that her colleagues in the Christie administration feigned ignorance when the media began raising questions about the George Washington Bridge lane realignments.
Kelly said she told Gov. Chris Christie about the lane closure plan a few weeks before two of three access lanes dedicated to Fort Lee were shut down in September 2013, and she raised it again on two occasions while the closures were underway. But when the issue was raised at a December 2013 press conference, Christie first joked that he was “working the cones,” then said he and his staff knew nothing about it.
