Crystal West Edwards, a certified elder law attorney with Schenck, Price, Smith & King in Florham Park, was installed as president of the Garden State Bar Association at a ceremony held at the Madison Hotel in Morristown on Oct. 4. Edwards is also immediate past president of the New Jersey chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Her goals for the GSBA during her tenure include utilizing organization mentorship programs to educate and empower future members of the bar; providing legal representation to individuals facing charges for involvement in nonviolent social protests over systematic racism; and offering continuing legal education to the organization’s members.
Meyner and Landis Runners Tackle ’5K Run for Everyone’
Fourteen runners from Meyner and Landis in Newark participated in the “5K Run for Everyone,” an annual fundraising event for the Westfield Area YMCA. Past proceeds established the Dragonfly Program, which offers physical, recreational and social programs for young adults with special needs. Proceeds from this year’s 5K, which took place on Sept. 18, will continue to grow the Dragonfly programs and develop new programs to serve the YMCA community.
