Karen Sacks is executive director and founder of Volunteer Lawyers for Justice, which since 2001 has provided pro bono services to low-income litigants in bankruptcy, consumer, eviction, child support, veteran, and other matters. The organization, which recruits volunteers from law firms and legal departments, was active in Superstorm Sandy-related cases. Sacks, who chaired the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Pro Bono Committee, recently announced she will transition to a new position at VLJ in 2017: chief strategic officer.
