A Superior Court judge is facing ethics charges that she improperly inserted herself in a child custody matter by calling the police on a weekend and having a child transferred from one parent to another.
Passaic County Superior Court Judge Liliana DeAvila-Silebi asserts in response that she was an emergent judge on call on that particular weekend and that she acted after receiving a telephone call from a person purporting to be an attorney. The person was not an attorney, however, according to court documents.
